Singapore Launches the Aviation Jobs Transformation Report at OneAviation Careers and Education Fair 2025

The third edition of the OneAviation Careers and Education Fair 2025, organised by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), was held from 18 to 19 July 2025 at Suntec City Convention Centre.

This year’s event, themed “One Industry. Many Opportunities”, gathered more than 40 aviation companies, educational institutions and industry partners. The career fair showcased a diverse range of career opportunities in the Singapore aviation industry. Attendees also enjoyed various experiential activities including simulators, drone soccer, talks and on-site live interview sessions conducted by recruiting companies.

A highlight of the event was the announcement and launch of the Aviation Jobs Transformation Report on 18 July 2025. Graced by Ms Sun Xueling, Senior Minister of State, the Singapore Ministry of Transport and Ministry of National Development, the launch event was attended by government officials, industry professionals, and members of the academia.

The report describes 3 transformation strategies for the 60,000-strong aviation workforce:

  • Deepen industry-education partnerships to equip Singaporeans with future skills and capabilities and promote aviation careers.

  • Accelerate ecosystem-level investments in technology and Research & Development to assist workers and raise labour productivity.

  • Provide stronger and more targeted support to companies to transform jobs and better support workers.

The CAAS will establish a $200 million OneAviation Manpower Fund to support the sector’s workforce transformation. The Fund will support initiatives by unions, aviation companies and education providers to better attract, develop and retain our OneAviation workers. The $200 million is part of the $1 billion earlier announced by CAAS in March 2025 to support Singapore’s air hub development.

In view of the upcoming growth in global air passenger demand and the development of Changi Terminal 5, Mr Han Kok Juan, Director-General of CAAS, said that “the Singapore aviation sector will provide new and exciting career opportunities for Singaporeans, now, and in the future.”

The report, along with various collaboration agreements and the new OneAviation Manpower Fund, “will give a big boost to Singapore’s aviation manpower development efforts,” Mr Han added.

Later in the year, Workforce Singapore will also launch an Aviation Sector Job Redesign Playbook to support companies in identifying and implementing job redesign opportunities effectively. This playbook will provide a step-by-step guide, complete with practical tools, frameworks and action plans to assist employers and professionals in navigating their job transformation journey.
