Established in Singapore since 1973 to support the expansion of aerospace-related activities in Asia Pacific, Thales today has built a strong industrial capability in avionics production and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) to support the aerospace industry and regional airlines from Singapore including Singapore Airlines, Air Asia and Garuda Indonesia.
To help airlines and aircraft manufacturers better position themselves for recovery and strengthen their future-readiness, Thales in Singapore has two key avionics units servicing customers across Asia.
Aviation Global Services (AGS):
Adopting a global services approach that is highly focused on the success of customers, the Thales AGS team provides a one-stop service for all airline customers – from worldwide maintenance and technical support, to training, parts trading and line maintenance including digital tools and assets amongst many others. This not only simplifies the lives of airlines but also enables them to benefit from Thales’ more innovative solutions.
Avionics Asia-Pacific Industrial Centre (AAIC):
Recognising the importance of delivering quality products and services on time and at the right price, the Thales AAIC houses the region’s production, repair, industrial and engineering teams under one roof – ensuring collaboration and promoting the sharing of best practices across all functions to better meet customers’ needs in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
Annually, over 40,000 pieces of equipment are repaired locally, making Singapore the Group’s largest centre for avionics and maintenance and repair services worldwide. Within the Thales AAIC, the team oversees:
