SATS Ltd. (SATS), a world leader in air cargo handling and a provider of food solutions, has announced a strategic restructuring of its Gateway Services business. The move, announced on 10 July, aims to strengthen SATS’ position in both its home market of Singapore while scaling its international presence to capture growth opportunities overseas.
SATS’ Gateway Services business involves the provision of ground handling services such as passenger handling, baggage services, aircraft handling, security services and cargo handling services that are critical for safe, efficient and timely airport operations.
The restructuring, effective 1 October 2024, establishes two new business units:
With the restructuring of Gateway Services business, Bob Chi, who joined SATS in 1988 and currently Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gateway Services, will be redesignated CEO Gateway Services Asia-Pacific. Henry Low, SATS’ current Chief Operating Officer, will take over as the CEO of the Singapore Hub. Both appointments will take effect from 1 October 2024.
SATS’ reach extends beyond Singapore and Asia-Pacific. Through its 2023 acquisition of Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) for S$1.8 billion, SATS boasts a global network of 215 stations across 27 countries in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
